At the Singapore Awards Ceremony of Retail Asia in November the top three retailers within 14 key markets had been honoured . One of several criteria had been also environmental issues : see news of November. But also marketing stategies, operational success, human resources and IT-investments had been reviewed by the international Jury.
The Gold Awards were given to Westfarmers/Australia, China Resources Enterprise/China, AS Watson/Hong Kong, Future Value Retail/India, Indomarco Prismatama/Indonesia, Seven & I Holdings/Japan, GCH Retail (M)/Malaysia, Foodstuffs (NZ)/New Zealand, SM Retail/Philippines, NTUC FairPrice Co-operative/Singapore, Lotte Group/South Korea, President Chain Store Corp/Taiwan, CP-All/Thailand and SaigonCo.op/Vietnam.

The BelaRus company Menka organized in Minsk together with the Institute of History of the BelaRus
Academy of Sciences a first international conference to reflect the importance of merchants,trade and architecture in the past to learn by this for the future.The conference was opened by the vice-minister
of trade Irina Narkevich.

|03.02.2012: Innovation Comparison
The EuroShop-Segment EuroCIS became market-leader in Europe as a stand-alone exhibition for retail-related IT. The 2012-Show in February will have 6,000 square meters exhibition-floor. Compared with the last EuroCIS 2010 this is an increase of 15 percent, 17 percent of exhibitors and 40 percent of international exhibitors (more at the Website). One of the high-ranking foreign guests will be the Trade Minister of the Moscow Government, Mikhail Orlov.
The innovation-fields of EuroCIS will be analysed by the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics-student Anastasia Dibrova for her MA-thesis. Staying as a two-months trainee at the EHI Retail Institute she will send out supervised by Prof. Dr. B. Hallier questionnaires to compare German and Russian retail.
|15.11.2019 : Promoting Entrepreneurs
Starting in 2018 in Zagreb/ Croatia as an initiative of the civil society now in Skopje a second World Congress of Entrepreneurs followed in 2019 being hosted by Northern Macedonia. The idea is to bring together scientists, entrepreneurs and governments in an annual event circling around the territories of ex-Yugoslavia.
"The Conference is an ideal platform for speeding up the knowledge transfer about innovations" Prof.Dr.B.Hallier said. "I am very happy that we could integrate the competition for High Schools and Secondary Vocational Schools of Skopje into this event of great publicity! If we have an entrepreneurial youth and teachers promoting applied sciences we do not have to be afraid of the future" he added.
